Hidden Tips for a Disney Vacation

admin Posted in Family, How To's Comments Off on Hidden Tips for a Disney Vacation

Disney World—two words that have an instant appeal to anyone with children as well as the child within us. Many families make it a goal to try and see this theme park at least once (maybe even several times). But, many would-be park goers aren’t getting the most out of their stay. Here’s some valuable tips and knowledge that you can put into practice when putting together your next Disney trip.

What’s New At Disney?

If you’re planning a trip to Disney in 2017, you’re likely going to want to plan your trip around one date: May 27th. This is when one of the most anticipated attractions in the park’s recent history opens its doors, Pandora: World of Avatar. The largest expansion in the history of Animal Kingdom, this new area promises to bring to life the floating mountains and glowing rainforests of James Cameron’s sci-fi hit. Naturally, this will be bringing some huge lines for the next year or so. Don’t be afraid to visit, just plan wisely (more on that later)

One thing that may not be on your radar but is worth looking into is Disney Springs. Formerly known as Downtown Disney, this dining and entertainment area officially finishes construction this year. Get ready for some great new restaurants like The Edison, The Boathouse, Jock Lindsay’s Hangar Bar, Morimoto Asia, and more.

Planning Wisely

Rather than suggesting the best time to visit Disney, we should lay out times where you generally want to avoid booking your trip. While it’s tempting to take advantage of those week-long breaks, especially if you have children, you’re generally asking for trouble. Naturally, it’s because anyone else with kids has the same idea! By the same token, summer has the same big crowds along with hot and humid weather.

In general, fall and Christmas make for a great combination of lower crowds, more agreeable weather, as well as some great events. These include the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot in September. Another top event is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in early December. If you don’t have many opportunities to go to Disney, the holiday season is a great choice.

While it may not sound very fun, if you’re a first-time visitor, it pays to do your homework. If you have a family, take the time and sit down with your kids to try and see what type of rides they want to see the most. Don’t feel that you need to plan everything down, but a basic set of priorities will make things much easier for you later.

When you’re in the park proper, many use Fastpass to try and save time on the rides, but using this resource properly will help you in the long run. Take the time to look at the tip board in each park to see what the current waits are for each ride. Some of your Fastpass options generally have little wait, so try to avoid blowing your uses of this system when you don’t need it. Cueing up as single riders, even if you are a group, can cut down on your wait time as well.

Disney Fun Without A Massive Bill

One of the biggest things you need to figure out is where you are going to stay. Racing to the bottom when it comes to prices may seem like a viable strategy, but there are a few things to consider. First, there is the convenience factor (how close you are to the park). Keep in mind what food options you have available nearby. Where you stay is much more than where you lay your head after a long night out.

While you may be skeptical of using a resort package, these provide comfort and convenience without breaking the bank. This is especially the case at Disney, which is well known for its resorts. Learn more about the different vacation packages from Westgate Reservations at https://www.westgatereservations.com/orlando/vacation-packages/disney/. Here are some benefits that you can get by using one of these packages.

  • The spacious accommodations mean that you can get a suite or villa with enough room for large groups.
  • Avoid parking fees with complimentary shuttle service.
  • There is just as much entertainment at the resorts as at the parks themselves. This makes for a good fallback if the weather is rough.
  • Pet-friendly rooms for those who want to bring their furry friends.
  • Plenty of dining options on the premises. This means that you don’t have to worry about working dinner or any other meal into your plans.

From what you do to where you stay to how you save, a Disney vacation is prime for lifelong memories. Note that you can start it off on the right foot before you leave home. Use some of the insight from this article to help you guide on those essential planning moments—just don’t forget to enjoy yourself.

admin Posted in How To's Comments Off on Emails and Beyond: How to Streamline Office Communications

Business communication needs clarity and purpose. The three core areas of business communication are meetings, presentations, and writing. If your staff members struggle in any of these three areas, a business communication skills workshop will improve your effectiveness.

Meetings: Communications should build better relationships with clients and colleagues. Many office workers complain that meetings are a waste of time. An effective meeting is a chance to solve challenges and make decisions. Meeting participants report on their progress, listen to their colleagues, and walk away with highlights and key decisions in effective meetings. Meeting leaders hold their team accountable for progress, manage problems within the group, and delegate clear responsibilities with deadlines. Meeting skills workshops teach best practices and develop a common language among coworkers. Teams that listen to each other and engage in meetings are more likely to make the best decisions.

6 Tips to Having the Best Prom of Your Life

admin Posted in How To's Comments Off on 6 Tips to Having the Best Prom of Your Life

Group of friends prom group

Prom Group

Prom is one of the most anticipated and significant events that take place over the course of a young woman’s high school experience. From finding the perfect dress to knowing which date or group of friends to spend the evening with, decisions about prom night are many, and with a few exceptions, most of them feel extremely important

If you’re already making plans in anticipation of that magical night, here are six tips that will help ensure you have the time of your life at prom.

1. Be Comfortable

For most teens, prom night doesn’t begin at the dance. There are usually plenty of pictures that need to be taken by multiple households, and a dining experience or pre-prom party to enjoy before you ever head over to the venue. Because of these realities, prom night can last a surprisingly long time, which means you need to consider your comfort level across many hours and activities.

Choose one of the 2015 prom dresses that allow for easy sitting, eating, dancing, and walking, and above all, make sure your shoes are up to the task of comfortably carrying you from early evening until the wee hours of the morning. Wear your hair in a style that can go the distance, too, since the last thing you want to be doing during your favorite song is fussing with bobby pins in the bathroom.

2. Plan Ahead

Making sure your plans are set before the big day will help you relax as prom night draws near. Jot down a list of all the activities you’ll be doing and all the specialty purchases you need to make, and go about making reservations, buying tickets, finding your dress, and securing a spot at your favorite salon. Because so many other teenagers will be doing the same thing around the same time, consider getting everything finished, purchased, and reserved a month ahead of time.

3. Don’t Stress Out About Finding a Date

If you don’t have anyone you’re currently dating, don’t stress out about finding the perfect date. Instead, get together with a group of your best girlfriends or boyfriends and make a plan to spend the evening together. Not only will you feel relieved about asking someone or being asked, but you’re also more likely to have a memorable prom.

Too often, perfect strangers decide to spend this important event together and find they have little to talk about, which can make for an awkward and dull affair. Avoid that trap by hanging out with the people with whom you already love to spend your time.

4. Bring a Clutch — and Pack it Well

Leave your massive boho bag at home, but do bring along a classy and tasteful clutch. Not only will it complement your dress and shoes nicely, but its contents may also come in handy. Pack the following just in case:

  • A tampon
  • Lipstick
  • Cash
  • Your mom’s credit card
  • Cell phone
  • Gum or breath mints
  • Kleenex

5. Get Ready to Dance

Whether you consider yourself a good dancer or not, you’ll have the most fun if you decide to dance as much as possible. If you’ve never taken to the dance floor before, consider taking classes, or just start practicing at home in your bedroom a few months ahead of time until you feel like yourself when music is playing and your body is moving.

While it can be tempting to believe that prom is little more than an elaborate photo shoot, its central charm lies in your ability to let loose and enjoy yourself in a fun atmosphere with your classmates. Don’t miss out!

6. Prepare Yourself for Peer Pressure

By now, you’ve come across many forms of peer pressure, and you probably know yourself relatively well in the face of it. Regardless of your personal beliefs and practices on issues like underage drinking, drug use, sex, and the like, take some time to consider what you want the night to be like, so no one else can influence you beyond your true comfort level. Prom night may feel like the most important evening of your life, but you have many, many more exciting nights ahead of you. Whatever you decide, choose to be safe, and remember your future. Don’t get into a vehicle with anyone who has been using any substances, and if at any time you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, ditch your manners. Use your voice, and get yourself to safety.

Prom night is one of the most exciting events in a young woman’s life, and preparing for it should be fun, too. Follow these six tips, and you’ll be able to look back on it all with a happiness that will last your whole life.
