Manger Promise

I learned this from a Longaberger friend. Get a large basket or other pretty container. Place it in your hallway or entrance area. Fill it up with hay or straw to prepare a bed for the baby Jesus.

Every time that you miss an opportunity to help someone, be a friend, deliver some holiday cheer, etc., you have to take a piece of hay out of Jesus' manger. Every time you do a good deed, make someone's day, etc., put a piece of hay into Jesus' manger.

On Christmas day, does the baby have a warm soft bed at your holiday house?

Deanna's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
3 cups powdered sugar
2 cups softened margarine
2 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla

With mixer, blend powdered sugar and soft margarine, add the eggs and vanilla.

Blend dry ingredients together:
5 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Mix together by hand until blended. Refrigerate dough wrapped in plastic wrap.

Bake at 350 degrees until brown.

Frosting:

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons margarine
2 1/2 - 3 tablespoons cream or milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix well together, then frost and enjoy!
