Milk Carton Nativity

Materials:
two half-gallon and one quart-size milk cartons
paper
yarn
poster
paint

dishwashing liquid

1. Cut the tops from two half-gallon milk cartons and a quart-size one, about 1/2 inch below where the cartons bend to a point.

2. With the spout open, paint one of the large tops brown for Joseph. (Add some dishwashing liquid to the paint to help make it stick.)

3. For the face, cut a sqaure of paper about twice as large as the spout opening.

4. Rub glue all around the inside of the spout and poke the paper square inside so that the entire opening is filled with paper.

5. Draw a face on the paper with markers. Add yarn for hair and a beard. Cut paper hands and glue them under the face.

6. Glue a piece of paper over the back opening of the figure.

7. Mary and baby are made in similar fashion.

Stuffed Gingerbread Boy

Materials:
large brown paper bag
yarn
newspaper
glitter
fabric

1. Cut down the seam of a large brown paper bag. Then cut the bottom out of the bag so that you have a long flat sheet of brown paper.

2. Fold the paper in half and draw a gingerbread boy outline on it. Cut it out.

3. Hold the two pieces together and punch holes all the way around.

4. Use yarn to lace the back and front together about three-fourths of the way around, then stuff with crumpled newspaper. Finish lacing. Add a fabric bow.

5. Place newspaper on your work area and decorate the rest of the gingerbread boy with glue and glitter.
