Kids Crafts & Projects

 

Rainbow Stew  

1/3 c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
4 c. cold water
red, yellow, and blue food coloring

 

Mix sugar and cornstarch in pan.
Add water.
Heat until mixture begins to thicken, stirring constantly; cool.
Divide the mixture equally into 3 containers, then add food coloring, 1 color per container, until the mixtures reach the color intensity desired.
Add 3 heaping tablespoons of each color to a heavy-duty zipper-close bag. Seal the bag and tape it closed.

Have the children knead the bag, mixing the colors into a rainbow stew. these can be hung in a window for display, or stored in the frig for play later.

Slime  

 

Supplies:
1 c. white glue
1/4 to 1/2 c. liquid starch

Measure glue into a small mixing bowl. Add liquid starch, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix with a fork until it forms a ball. Store in a covered container.
